Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Fonologist account and what happens to your data when you do. It applies to the Fonologist apps for iOS and Android and to fonologist.com.

How to delete your account

1. Open the Fonologist app, or go to fonologist.com and sign in.
2. Go to Profile.
3. Scroll down to About.
4. Tap Delete account.
5. Confirm.

If you cannot access the app, email hello@fonologist.com from the email address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. We delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your account, profile, progress, streak and spoken-language settings are deleted immediately.

What is kept

Gameplay records, meaning which clips were played and the guesses made, are kept with no account identifier, for aggregate statistics. Clip reports you sent are kept with no account identifier. Neither can be linked back to you.

Guest accounts

Anonymous guest accounts that never completed a session are removed automatically after 30 days.
